Click on the link above to view a Memoir I wrote this year for English. It had to be about an experience you had that involved you leaving your childhood behind for adulthood. I'm very proud of this essay, and feel it shares an experience I had while vividly describing my fall of this pony. When the graded paper was returned to me, the final result was a 95%. I think that's pretty good!

Click on the link above to view a Topic Sentence Outline I am compiling for a work I currently have in progress: a research paper. For this project, our assignment was to choose someone who has made an impact on society, and describe their defining moment and how society has changed as a result. I chose to evaluate Jim Henson, and how his creation of the Muppets and work on Sesame Street eventually led to a children's educational television empire. This outline will be the foundation for the actual essay, and will briefly describe everything that will be written. I'm proud of my organization skills here and hope the final essay pays off because of it.

The link above is to a short paper I wrote about characters from a novel read this year in English, Into the Wild. After reading the book, our class watched the movie and had to observe things portrayed differently than in the actual text. A whole new character was added in the movie, so I wrote about her and the connection she had with the main character in the book. I'm proud of my skills to watch a movie and take accurate notes, and get so much out of it that I did.

For the same book, we were required to write a letter to the main character about his decisions and

actions. I really like my letter and think the format is perfect, like I was talking to a real person. My

teacher liked it as well, and gave the paper few corrections. I think this piece shows some of my

best writing skills and how smooth I can make transitions when writing.

For another book read in class, a final essay had to be written. Lord of the Flies focused on different types of allegory, which was the main focus for our essay. Characters were assigned, making the writing harder for some than others. I spent a lot of time on this essay, and was proud of the result, making sure I did everything that was required and used actual quotations from the book formatted properly. The final grade was in the B's, so I'm proud of myself and think I did a good job.
